May 20, 2025 - "Spring Outing" - The pavilion at Wayne Township Community Park (1549 Long Run Road, Schuylkill Haven will be the setting for our spring club picnic among the lovely California Poppy fields. Starts at 6:00 p.m. Please bring shareable picnic food.
June 17, 2025 - "Natural Alternatives" - Concerned about personal items and products youuse in your home? Katie Holden will give a presentation on growing and foraging plants to be used as natural alternatives in lotions, sprays, etc. and healing products.
**Please note - at 5:30 p.m. there will be a Memorial Walk at Schuylkill Haven Recreation Memorial Garden to place bricks in memory of friends and family.
July 15, 2025 - "Floral Design" - Kenny Fetteroff of Forget-Me-Not Florist will dazzle us again this year by arranging one design for each of the artistic arrangement categories/classes in Department 17 of the 2025 Schuylkill County Fair book for inspiration. Again, flowers from our gardens will be used. Then it is up to you to select one of the categories/classes and design your own arrangement with Kenny giving pointers as you work.
August 19, 2025 - "Schuylkill County Sheep to Shawl" - SSGC's Kim Morgan will present a power point on the BAAAhd Girls Sheep to Shawl Team road to success at the 2025 PA Farm Show. Kim will also explain how natural dyes from trees and plants found in nature were used to dye the wool fibers.
September 16, 2025 - "Kokedama Workshop" - Kokedama is a centuries-old Japanese form of bonsai. ("Koke" means moss and "dama" means ball). Kokedama involves using a moss ball as the supporting and the focal point for a tree, shrub, or plant. In other words, it consists of wrapping the plant's roots in a ball of soil which is then covered with moss.
October 21, 2025 - "Homemade Sauerkraut" - SSGC's Linda Bollinger will show us how to take cabbage from our gardens and turn it into delicious sauerkraut. "Recycling" - SSGC's Kathy Townley will give hints for recycling to reduce plastic waste.
November 18, 2025 - "Winter Greens Workshop" - Workshop to create an eye-catching centerpiece using a birch log base. The log will be filled with conditioned greens that will last for weeks.
December - TBA - "Holiday Dinner" - More information to follow.

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept that I cannot grow all the plants, the patience to wait for my seeds to sprout, and the wisdom to know the best time to sneak zucchinis onto porches.
