Membership Information and Standing Rules of the South Schuylkill Garden Club
1. Annual Dues are payable at or before the December business meeting. Dues not paid by the December meeting will result in not being listed in the Club Yearbook.
2. Dues may be raised on recommendation of the Executive Board and a majority vote of all those present at a regular meeting. One month's written notice shall be given to all current members.
3. Meetings will be held the third Tuesday of each scheduled month at 6:30 p.m.
4. The Club year shall run from January 1st to December 31st.
5. Membership Yearbooks shall be sent (or given at District meetings) to the State President, GCFP headquarters, District Director and Assistant Director ll/lll, and Distirct ll/lll Garden Clubs.
6. At the November meeting, each committee chair should return in a report of activities for that year to the president. All information received by the chair from previous committee heads must be passed on.
7. Awards will be established and presented at the prerogative of the Executive Board.
8. At the death of a Club member, his/her name shall be placed in the GCF Book of Recognition or a book shall be placed in his/her name in the SWSGC library.
9. The Standing Rules may be changed by a majority vote at a regular meeting.
10. All members should serve on a regular meeting refreshment committee once a year and support fundraising activities.
11. Each new member will be assigned a Mentor by the Club President. The duties of the Mentor are as follows:
a. Contact the new member before every meeting and club event.
b. Introduce the new member to other club members.
c. Explain club committees, their duties, and purpose.
d. Mentor should be familiar with the Club By-laws, and Standing Rules in order to be able to answer the new member questions.
12. The Garden Club may from time to time designate workshop(s) or program(s) without charge to members.
13. A Garden Club member presenting a program should be offered the same stipend as an outside guest.
